    Free Bets

    Hi jfc and welcome!

The way freebets work usually requires you to place at least the same amount as a first bet, occasionally on a specific event. If you just want the £10 in your sweaty hand you can't have it. BUT you can have MOST of it.

What you should do is place your initial bet on a horse/football team and place a corresponding lay bet at the same odds or as close as you can get on Betfair. You then repeat the exercise with the free bet.

As a result you should have two winning bets at a £10 stake and two losing bets at a £10 stake so you should have a push on the first win/loss combo and the same on the second (less betfair commission). But you didn't stake the second bet, it was free, so in this case you have an extra £9 or so which you can withdraw and move on to the next site. Obviously you need to make sure your back/lay odds are almost the same.

If you haven't already joined Betfair do so from the link on the left and you'll get a tenner there too!! PM me if you need help.

    TG
