He is just too old, dont think he should come back
Well he didn't, so that's that. Congratulations to Rubens for a faultless drive in Valencia. Button was a bit unlucky getting pushed a bit hard at the start by Vettel, forced him to lift and cost him places after a reasonable start. Hard to believe that Hamilton's final pitstop didn't cost him the race, despite what he and Martin Whitmarsh say, if he could have got back out in front he could have quite easily have kept Rubens behind.
Onto my all time favourite circuit Spa in Belgium and the famous Eau Rouge, the drivers need b***s of steel to go flat through there and not lift at the top. It looks like the weather is going to be crap (cold and possibly wet) so I am fancying Lewis for the win. Jenson needs to find something extra otherwise he will struggle to win the title despite being 18 points in front, at least he only dropped half a point at Valencia due to the Red Bulls not scoring.
As for Ferrari's decision to put Luca Badoer in the second Ferrari, well I'm speechless but with their policy on drivers, what else could they do? If it's wet in Belgium he won't be a chicane for long. Eau Rouge will see to that. The funniest quote I have read since Valencia was from Anthony Davidson, who was commentating for 5 Live and he said " I think I will give Ferrari a ring and offer my services" lmfao

amazing what Reubens did really....
After a revival of fortunes for Jensen and a return to early season form things are getting close between the Brawn pilots. Rubens is piling on the pressure in what looks now to be a two horse race for the drivers championship. With a 14 point lead and 4 races to go Jensen needs, I believe to get one more win but to do this he needs to out qualify Rubens. The reason Rubens is out performing Jensen in the second half of the season is down to driving styles. The Brawn drivers suffered with tyre temperature problems mid season but they have now resolved this but Rubens is getting the better of Jensen because of his driving style, he is not as smooth as Jensen when it comes to steering imput and this is generating more heat in the tryes compared to Jensen and this is giving him more grip.
Jensen has entered into a different mind set and is now looking at the championship as a 4 race series with a 14 point advantage, this mental attitude, I think will win him the title. Rubens has got nothing to lose and will be going all out to win it for himself, something that I think he richly deserves. I am rooting for Jensen for obvious reasons but would not be unhappy if Rubens pulled it off.
By far the biggest news within the sport is Renault, the departure of Briatore and Symonds basically admits that they cheated in Singapore last year and the team are before the FIA on Monday. I am hoping that the departure of the culprits will be enough to get the rest of the Renault team off the hook, the madness that the pair showed should not effect 500 other employees lives. How the hell they thought they could get away with it is beyond me, as soon as they sacked Piquet it was going to come out. The FIA cannot really afford to lose another major motor manufacturer out of the sport so I think they will be given race bans maybe even suspended, anything more severe and Renault may decide to pull the plug on F1 which in my personal opinion would be tragic. They are one team that thinks about the fans and what the fans want. I personally have been afforded more access to the sport by Renault than any other team and whatever happens I thank them for that.
As for the rumour mill, I think it is a done deal that Fernando Alonso is on his way to Ferrari next year. Santander announcing that they will be sponsoring Ferrari next season is a big give away, until this has been officially announced I wouldn't begin to speculate where every one else will be going.
There are new teams entering next season Campos, USF1, Manor and now Lotus who have been bought by a Malaysian concern and will be based at Sepang, a track that I have been to and plan to go back to in the future, so we could have 28 cars on the grid if the current teams agree to proposals being put forward. BMW Sauber have apparently found a buyer and have been included as reserve entry for 2010.
I'm looking forward to the last 4 races and a tight battle between Rubens and Jensen, funnily enough the next outing is Singapore, so if Renault were to be banned from taking part I think it might spare a few blushes. Cheating is nothing new in Formula 1, to think it doesn't go on is naive, I remember reading about one instance back in the 50's I think, when a team decided to extend the range of the car on fuel by filling the chassis rails up with extra petrol so they could do extra laps, safety back then wasn't such a big issue but consider the consequenses of this in an accident, the mind boggles!
Roll on Singapore

Well unlike some fans I am happy that Renault, as a team have been given a reprieve getting a suspended two year ban. Most fans are saying it is dis proportionate compared to the massive fine dealt out to McLaren in the "spygate scandal". Yes it is, I couldn't agree more and McLaren must be wondering what the hell the FIA and WMSC are doing. I can't really comment on their rulings but I will say that if they had come down any harder on Renault, (at this precise moment in time) it would have spelt the end of the team and Renault would have pulled the plug (they still may)
The FIA and WMSC do seem to have their own rules that they work to for their own gain and some fans can't come to terms with this but I'm afraid like any other major sport, F1 will always have it's controversies and let's face it, it spices things up. As I have mentioned before, cheating to some extent goes on in most sport and money is normally the main factor. It doesn't matter what sport you are involved in, if it's on a World stage then dodgy dealings will be going on, sadly.
Anyway enough of that, onto Singapore once more and I sincerely hope that Romain Grosjean can keep the car going in a straight line, especially at turn 17  and looking forward to a good fight between Jensen and Rubens.

If you need any inspiration this is a MUST. I watched (live on TV) this guy come as close to death as one could. Before this happened I met him in the paddock at Silverstone and he stopped and chatted to me for 5 minutes, gave me his signature and wished ME luck. Alex Zanardi I take my hat off to you and would like this time to wish YOU luck with your dream. :hattip:

I told you lmfao how ironic was that  Wish I could do as well with the lottery numbers.
Well what a perfect outcome for Jensen  from 11th on the grid to finish 5th and more importantly 1 place in front of Rubens. 15 point lead and 3 races left. I am not counting his chickens though, bigger leads have disappeared with less races to go in the past. Jensen could actually win the title next week in Japan if he takes 5 more points than Rubens. Could history repeat itself and we get another English World Champion at Suzuka. Damon Hill did it funnily enough on my wife's birthday in 1996 (could be an omen) I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Congrats to Lewis on a flawless drive today :hattip:
GO GO Jensen

I guess things just got out of hand really, what Flavio did is just reckless.
Well Jensen didn't pull it off in Suzuka, not surprised really as it was a big ask to get 5 more points than your team mate.
After falling foul of the stewards in qualy 2 by posting fast times under yellow flag conditions 4 drivers including Jensen were given penalties, and rightly so, waived yellow flags mean slow down and be prepared to stop but all 4 kept their feet firmly planted through the debris on the track.
I, like Jensen was surprised that Rosberg kept his 5th place finish after pitting during the safety car, the feeling was he had raced back to the pits at full speed whilst the others were held behind the safety car and thus gained an advantage. The rules state that as soon as the safety car is deployed those in front of the safety car must continue the lap they are on in a set time (slower than race speed) so that no advantage can be gained, a dashboard reading gives the driver a plus or minus reading and as long as they don't enter the pits on a minus they are deemed to have adhered to the rule. Apparently Rosberg's dash overrided this and was showing him a "low fuel" reading so he had no idea of what time he had to stick to, he may of gained a few seconds but this was only introduced for this season and probably has a few gremlins that need to be sorted. If Rosberg had got a penalty Brawn would have picked up the Constructors title today but they only need half a point to do it in Brazil.
Jensen scrapped home in 8th for 1 point and it leaves him 14 points clear with 2 races left, basically he needs to score 6 points from the last two races to secure the title, Brazil should suit the Brawn better so I am hoping they can qualify better and lock out the front row.
Many congratulations to Sebastian Vettel for a flawless weekend, fabulous performance. :hattip:

Well this weekend has been too tense for me to write anything, but now I can.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
JENSON BUTTON 2009 FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPION :hattip:
I was a bit depressed after the teams almighty cock up, not putting Jenson on inters in qualy 2 and thought (to be honest) that Rubens would easily take the title down to Abu Dahbi.
How wrong I was ;)
If ever anyone doubted that Jenson was going to be World Champion, it was me yesterday but today he showed that he is well and truly a deserving number 1, he drove a fantastic race overtaking no less than 4 other drivers on the track to get the points he needed. My heart goes out to Rubens, the guy never seems to have any luck in his home race and the late puncture dealt him out of the title.
My congratulations go the the whole of the Brawn team. You really deserve this success. Constructors and Drivers title in the first season, superb achievement.
Onto Abu Dahbi in 2 weeks and thank heavens I can relax and enjoy it even more than today. I'm just hoping Jenson can finish 2009 with a win but if he doesn't I aint that bothered :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
