Don't Always Believe What You Read!

    Hi all,
Just a word of warning NOT to always believe what you read in poker lobbies. I recently played (Christmas day 10pm) on Mansion, see below the email I sent and their response :duh:

I recently played in a MTT on Christmas Day called Christmas Cracker Freeroll Special. ID 56815342 where it stated in the lobby that it paid the top 100 players out of a total of 3722 entries. The top 3 prizes were a Sony Vaio laptop, a Playstation 3 and an Xbox 360.
I was completely disgusted to find out after playing for over 4 hours and finishing 15th that there were in fact no prizes at all for the top 100 finishers. To say this is disappointing is a understatement, there were an awful lot of disgruntled players amongst the top 100, the vast majority of which were under the opinion that the top 100 would get something.
I am a moderator on a large UK poker forum and will certainly be reporting this to our membership and warning them of your misinformation in your lobby unless an explaination is forthcoming. I find it staggering that you can mislead people to such a degree. I have recently come back to Mansion after a short spell and was impressed with the new graphics etc and managed to cash in my first tournament a few days ago but this disappointment last night has totally put me off coming back in future.
I hope that you can explain to me the reason why so many people were mislead in this particular tournament, Yours sincerely GDelday (Garry)

    Hello dilus
    Thank you for your email.
The Christmas Cracker Freeroll did only pay out to the top 3 winners. This was shown in the tournament lobby, however we do admit there was a wording error that said above that, that the Top 100 would be paid out and this wording error we appologise for.
As this was a FREE tournament we ware unable to compensate you in any way.
We do have a Daily $500 Freeroll which you are free to enter and on this one the top 30 are paid out.
Thank you for choosing to play at MANSION.

Guess I shouldn't be a freeroll whore or at least learn to misinterperate wording errors  you will be.

compensation should be forthcoming because im sure many of the players in this large 3/4 k seater would have geared their game to finishing in the top 100 and entered or folded hands with that in mind. and as a result left the tourney in what they thought was a wining position, freeroll or not to sit in a tourney for so long ( i guess what 3/4 hours) to push at the wrong time must be so frustrating to end up with nothing. very well played to get to 15th well done:fencing:

Cheers sasas, didn't expect to get any compensation as it was a freeroll but it is very annoying thinking you are progressing up a prize ladder only to find out that you have wasted 4 hours, I could have pushed a lot harder if I knew for definate that only the top 3 got anything ( a pack of cards or a T shirt might have been something ) for the time spent :banger: next time I think I will just fall asleep and fart and grunt in the chair like any normal person on Christmas day. But then again when has any poker player been described as NORMAL. I guess i'll just have to take down the $20k on 2nd Jan then I can :rearend: at Mansion ;)

Promise 100 prizes and you get 3k+ entries.

3 prizes < 1k. ..like who would be bothered.

    all about traffic imo.
