irish poker and omaha six strategy

I have never played either prior to this evening.. Dealer's choice on a sunday in Gala dundee, so I went down and these games were on the menu..

I was wondering if anyone can offer any decent strategy for either.. obviously the latter is full of boats and flushes and is bloody volatile but a good potbuilder..

Irish is weird because you get dealt 6 and discard 4 after the flop betting round, and essentially its hold'em.. should you draw to the nuts or a draw you are more likely to hit for example?

I managed to break even, but did drop 200quid earlier in a 1k 3way pot where i got 5-1 to call with a oesd.. both my opponents had flopped the boat, and one lucky beggar rivered a straight flush..

anyway i am talking gibberish as usual - hit me with some sound advice for either cardplayers..

Don't play either when I am at the table, or it will be on your bike ;)
