Video Games

I have been playing too much poker lately - so looking to unwind with some nice video games - however I am drawing a blank at what to buy/download...

anyone got any recommendations? I have a PC and a reasonable GFX card...

I would like a decent strategy game (maybe redalert style) , or a First person shooter (I have played F.E.A.R - but it runs a bit too slowly on my graphics card- time for an upgrade methinks)

dude not everybody's cup o tea, but i'm an age of empires man myself ;-)

bought AoE 3 and gameplay is v good. not played multiplayer etc much, but it's available.

only slight complaint is my year old laptop can barely cope when AI gets intensive. boo hiss. so i'd check spec.

Can't go wrong with a bit of age of empires, I prefer the 2nd edition though. I have heard of this free first person shooter game - War Rock - never played though, http://www.warrock.net/. Another free game would be this driving one, Track Mania Nations https://www.trackmanianations.com/indexUk.php. for me the best shooter is Quake II... i heard many good words about Q4 but haven't tried that yet, probably my laptop would not pull that. I also liked Medal of Honour Allied Assault, but the AI at some stage got so nasty that i did not finish it. Went quite far though... another one that is hardware friendly is Thief the Dark project. Might be old by now but still enjoyable. My mates at work tell me to join their team in Warcraft, but somehow I am not very into this kind of games.
Do you remember the old-old f-15 simulator i think it was on IBM 486 with soft disks - don't even remember what they are called.

World off Warcraft, my 17 year old has it and i have been itching to get my hands on it as an interactive game online .. you need to buy software and then you pay monthly to play but it 's worth it in my opinion, i so want to play it grrrr lol

Just joking, just use your winnings and buy yourself a X360. They are great!
Best games on it incl Gears of war, Forza Motorsport 2 as well as others that I cant think of atm.

Get yourself a Wii. I got one for the kids and it's fantastic, loads of great games too.
