    Advice to a newbie please

    Hi to all

I was watching Dragons Den (in the UK) tonight, and there was one couple who almost got an investment of £200,000 for their gaming comparison website. Among the discussion however, they mentioned gaming forums (Bingo in particular) and how many people used them.

As a result, I've signed up to this tonight and would like some genuine constructive feedback about something I am already involved in, but intend to take more seriously in the coming weeks.

I appreciate that there are a lot of "extreme" games players out there as well as the casual ones, so this request may not be suitable for all of you.

I often play things like internet hearts and spades, and get very frustrated when you can't really talk to them (exept for the pre-arranged options which are not always suitable). I would also like to know who I'm playing with and against.

What do the readers think of a system that will

    a) allow you to communicate fully with your partners/opponents
    b) allow you to pick who you want to play with - you can challenge your friends and family
    c) all software can be downloaded from the internet, so you don't all have to own the DVD and the games console
    d) can be played from any computer in the world with internet access
    e) (-my favourite!) - people can put their money where their mouth is if they want to, and challenge their mates to games of skill - for money. e.g.Let's see who REALLY is the best racer!
    f) and following on from this, there will even be the facility to set up your own tournaments by invitation or open to anybody, for which you as the organiser get a proportion of the entry fees, and the winners can collect a decent prize dependant on how may people enter.

Would this be of interest to any of you?

I look forward to hearing from you. I have a link where you can learn more, but if I understand correctly, I'm not allowed to put it on the forum thread.
If any of you would like it, please let me know.

    Lottie

tbh i dont know what type of games your talking about
do you mean games like hearts and spades or do you mean football, racing and fighting games like you get on games consuls
Good players have their place in the game of poker and hopefully it will be at a table where I'm not playing

    Thanks for the replies

    The link is
    removed

and the registration is absolutely free. If nothing else, it is worth registering just to keep up to date with the launch of the games in a few weeks.

horrible marketing, terrible website - cheesy video and the "register first" before you get info isn't exactly a good way to launch a product...

why on earth did you come on here posting this?

p.s your original story is total bullshit imo. "i was watching...":blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:

    Hi Alex

What was your opinion on Dragons Den then? - I thought I'd repeated it exactly.

..and just for the record, the web link is not my design - I just happen to be one of over 250,000 people who have already registered (for which you have to give your name and e-mail address - just as I did when joining the forum).

Please feel free to make a comment once you see what all the excitement is about and you have registered.

If you believe you are good at computer games, and want to challenge people presonally from anywhere in the world to prove it, then this could be for you!

I came onto the forum because I believed that there were people who play computer games and are interested in social networking.
I'm certain that some of your members will feel that way.
I'm sorry if you don't feel that way yourself.

you are so full of sh1t. there is a link to that site in your profile - why link to the site unless you own it and are trying to promote it?

Once the site is up and running, sure - let people know about it - just don't try to get people on the forum to sign up before it launches (if it ever does)..

Incidentally there are already copious amounts of skill-game sites around where you can play for money - and given the site you can't blame me for being skeptical - I have seen pratically identical sites involved in scams.. why does the site need 250k users to register huh? u need users after u create your site, not before. I find it hard to believe that it is just proactive marketing.
